The Handbook of Emotion and Memory was exciting reading for me from beginning to end, and it will occupy a prominent place on my bookshelf.

Mike Rinck in Contemporary Psychology

We have a long way to go before an integrated theory of memory and emotion will be possible, but publication of the ‘Handbook of emotion and memory” marks an important step towards that goal.

Andrew Mathews in Cognition and Emotion

Although there are several excellent more recent volumes available that examine various aspects of eyewitness memory, no other does as good a job in studying the relationship between emotion and memory across disciplines. This book is an excellent resource for clinicians who wish to understand this area, and for investigator who are looking for a sourcebook on the effects of emotion on memory.

Mitchell L. Eisen in American Journal of Clinical Hypnosis

Overall, the Handbook is an extremely useful summary, which will benefit a range of readers from relevant backgrounds with an interest in the topic, although it is not light reading. The diversity of material drawn together in the book means that it is likely to have something of value both for those working in various aspects of the field, and for those who wish to gain knowledge of current theory, methodology and experimental evidence.
